How to Control a Big Chair

I'm a little cat and my chair is very large. You may be wondering how I keep control of such a big seat. Observe the picture. See how I take up a lot of space in between the booklet and the arm of the chair? I could easily lay right next to the arm and leave plenty of room. Don't do that! If you do, people will get in the chair and crowd you. You don't want that.

Now look how I have my head jammed up against the arm of the chair. Aside from being a comfortable cushion, this allows me to easily pretend I'm asleep, even when I'm not, since people can't see my face. Finally, I have found that people think these kinds of positions look "cute." Really. If one of my people wants my chair, they will have to move me. And people don't want to disturb a cute, sleeping cat. Try it, it works!

  1. BooBoo, you are very wise beyond your years! Yes, people don't want to disturb their cat. It's the cardinal rule of kitty ownership (though I think most kitties owns their humans and not the other way around)!

  3. Thank you for the "I Want My Chair To Myself" guidance. We will find it useful and helpful as there are some peoples (un-named) in our house who will try to squeeze into the chair if we leave an inch-to-spare. It's quite distressing.

  6. If you need to, you can always kick your back feet out too. This works if someone tries to move you...

  7. That is great advice BooBoo! I think Lola has been talking to you because lately she is using a similar technique on the sofa! You do look cute and comfy, so it would be tough to move you and make you uncomfy!

    Have a great weekend!

  8. You are so right, BooBoo. I especially like to use that technique in the big bed when the beans are trying to sleep.

  13. I use the same technique on my Staff. For Ultimate Chair Control, I have discovered that it is best to sleep with my back toward the front of the chair. If I lay the other way, they will attempt to arrange my front and back legs around either side of their butt and use me as a warmer. This is Not Cool, so I have taken to sleeping "back-out" for Maximum Domination.
